"Pakistan trade with Indonesia created 1.2 billion USD in 2011, grew to record levels, which mainly owed to Pakistan enterprises' entry into Indonesian textile production," added by the Pakistan Commercial Attache Iqbal Tahir, Embassy in Jakarta.
"Indonesia has 240 million people, with the number of middle class keeping going up, which all provide an attractive environment for Pakistan textile exports to ASEAN," said by Iqbal.
"Items export to Indonesia including made-up goods, cotton textiles, Islamic dress, carpets, handicrafts as well as sportswear," the Pakistan Ambassador in Jakarta said.
According to Indonesian official data, Pakistan exported to Indonesia C of 41.7 million USD, and textile goods 7.4 million USD in 2011.
In the first 6 months 2012, C and C fabric are the main products Pakistan exported t Indonesia.
From Jan. to Jun. 2012, Indonesian imports from Pakistan total valued 126.7 million USD, and will greatly up to 300 million USD, expected by the Pakistan Ambassador.
"Pakistan has signed PTA with Indonesia, which will come into effect within two months, then Pakistan products to Indonesia will enjoy the reduction tariffs on C yarns, textiles as well as men's knitted wear," he said.
